About This Product

A classic logical and Scriptural survey of suicide, with suggestions for triumph in the temptation.

Satan, that dreadful enemy of our souls, attacked our Savior Jesus Christ with this dreadful but all too common temptation to self-destruction: "Cast thyself down!" Surely God's holy Son recoiled against a sin so unnatural, selfish, and dishonoring to His Father, but He faithfully conquered the wicked one, and also won the victory for all who are tempted and troubled by Satan's assaults. By faith in Christ and commitment to the truth of God's Word, trust your conquering Savior and follow His bold and believing example.

Octavius Winslow (1808-1878) was a descendent of Edward Winslow, a Pilgrim leader. Born in New York, he later moved to England where he held pastorates in Leamington Spa, Bath, and Brighton,

England. There he became one of the most valued Nonconformist ministers of the 19th century, and in 1861 spoke at the opening of Spurgeon's Tabernacle in London. Winslow was the author of over forty books, which are filled with experiential knowledge of Christ and biblical doctrine.
